About Barbara Rowles

Barbara Keays Rowles' initial studies were at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art with Arthur Lismer, one of Canada's renowned Group of Seven. Her studies were continued in the Vero area with William Schultz, Morgan Samuel Price and Charles Gruppe, and in Vermont with Robert Carstens and Albert Handell. Her pastels and oils have been exhibited and sold in Canada, Vermont and Florida."My love of art has, inevitably, evolved over the years. Growing up on the shore of the Gaspe' Peninsula of Quebec, as a child I began painting watercolours of the dramatic mountains and ocean. Fortunately, every summertime can now be divided between the Gaspe' and Vermont. This presents for painting, in both oil and pastel, a world of landscapes and farm animals that truly touches my heart. Along with my horse, painting is my passion.
