A GALA RECEPTION was held on Thursday April 2 from 5pm - 8pm. to celebrate the work of Save the Chimps and to introduce the hundreds of attendees to art work done by seven of the Sanctuary's simian artists. Attendees were also treated to work by artist Barbara Sharp, whose paintings of chimps show them in their natural habitat, in the midst of creating paintings, and in whimsical poses. Many bananas were brought as an entrance fee, and everyone delighted in the delicious repast in a tropical atomosphere of jungle prints and floral arrangements.
